He said the NPP will work hard with unity and humility to break the eight as it is possible.
“The time has come for us to break the eight. We will not allow power to slip off our hands, not today, not tomorrow [“tumi yi dze, yen manu nko ne, yen manu nko kyina]. Whatever means we have to use to remain in power, we will do. We will work hard, morning, day and night to make sure that power does not go to the NDC,” he stated.
The private legal practitioner called on members of the party to vote for Dr. Bawumia for the NPP to remain in power.
The fiercely contested election saw the legal practitioner winning with 376 votes and his closest contender, Nana Owusu Afriyie Prempeh securing 141 votes, representing 26.82% of valid votes cast.
Akwasi Coker Gyambibi had 2 votes whilst James Owusu Boakye got 7 votes.
The primary poll became necessary after four-time Member of Parliament Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh was nominated by the ruling party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as his running mate.
