Manager of Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has disclosed that the artiste has no plans at the moment to join the Ghana Music Awards scheme.
Sammy Flex in an interview on TV3’S New Day, Friday, May 17 said the artiste has not ruled out any permanent return to the Awards scheme but has only not begun any appropriate process to join the scheme.
“It is the process that would have to start and that process as I am saying has not started from our end. Maybe its not on top priority on our table at the moment.
“I won’t say never but at the moment there’s nothing like that on the table. For now as I talk to Cookie right now, the objectives on our table, joining VGMA is not part of it as we speak,” Sammy Flex told Cookie Tee on Friday, May 17.

Background
Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale were banned indefinitely from participating in the VGMAs after an altercation between them marred the 2019 edition.
The brawl on the night of the event led to the brandishing of a gun by one of the artistes.
The two decorated artistes were also stripped of the awards they won on the night and asked to return the plaques they had been given.
However, in 2021 the board after an internal meeting decided to lift the ban on the two artistes and reinstate them.
Although Stonebwoy has since been filing nominations to participate in the award scheme, Shatta Wale on the other hand has never participated in the award scheme.
He has boycotted the awards scheme for some years now and has till now stuck by his decision despite many calls by his fans to return to the award scheme.
With Sammy Flex’s assertion, it doesn’t look like the artiste will return to the award scheme anytime soon.
