Pep Guardiola says Manchester City are aiming to seal the game against West Ham United as early as possible.
The Cityzens are on the brink of a historic fourth consecutive Premier League title and a final day win over the Hammers will guarantee them this remarkable feat.
City lead Arsenal in the title race by two point after an impressive performance against Tottenham Hotspur in midweek, yet face another tough challenge in David Moyes’ West Ham side come Sunday afternoon.
Speaking in a pre-match conference about City’s final league match of the season, Guardiola admitted to how great the task ahead of his side looks, but believes the champions are ready to burst into life one more time.
“We’d like to be 3-0 up after 10 minutes vs West Ham… but it will not happen. I have a feeling it will be like Aston Villa in 2022. We are ready. My players will never give up”.
Should City grab the victory over West Ham, Pep Guardiola would become the first manager in history to win four straight titles in England’s top flight.
Arsenal will also face Everton at home in hopes that their London compatriots deny City of all three points, as they eye their first league title in 20 years.
