President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revoked the appointment of Victoria Adu, the Birim Central Municipal Chief Executive, with immediate effect.
A statement addressed to Madam Adu, dated March 19 and signed by Osei Bonsu (OB) Amoah, the Minister of State at the Local Government Ministry, said the regional minister is “requested to take oversight responsibility of the municipal assembly pending confirmation of a new municipal chief executive.”
The President thanked Madam Adu for her service to the state.
It would be recalled that the President, on February 3, terminated the appointment of some 24 District Chief Executives as a precursor to the President’s ministerial reshuffle on February 14.
They include the DCE for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Isaac Kwadwo Boabeng, and Adentan Daniel Alexander Nii-Noi Adumua.
The president revoked their appointment in accordance with Article 243 (3) b of the Constitution and Section 20 (3) b of the Local Government Act 2014 (Act 936).
