Leicester City winger Fatawu Issahaku remains focused on his national duties with the Ghanaian national team despite his team’s exit from the English FA Cup.
The Ghana international started and played for 63 minutes as Leicester City succumbed to a 4-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
Leicester City, having fought back from a 2-0 deficit to level the score against Chelsea, endured late drama as a red card enabled the Blues to capitalise and secure a 4-2 victory in stoppage time, booking their spot in the semifinals of the competition.
Expressing his disappointment following Leicester City’s exit from the English FA Cup, Issahaku emphasised that his focus was now on aiding Ghana in their upcoming assignments.
“Alhamdulilai disappointing yesterday, and thanks to the travelling fans for their amazing support. Time for national duties and we will be back soon to focus on our main purpose,” Issahaku wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Although Leicester City’s FA Cup journey ended, Issahaku is set to join the Black Stars under new coach Otto Addo, who is known to admire the young talent.
The four-time African champions are poised to begin their mission of revival with two anticipated international friendlies against archrivals Nigeria and Uganda later this month.

Despite missing out on the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Issahaku has been a key player for Leicester City since joining in the summer, contributing three goals and 10 assists in 31 Championship games.
Looking ahead, Issahaku aims to continue his contributions to Leicester City as they strive to return to the Premier League after suffering relegation last season. Additionally, there are ongoing discussions about making his loan move from Sporting CP permanent.
