Ghana’s High Commission in Nigeria has formally announced the death of the High Commissioner, Rashid Bawa.
This is contained in a press release dated March 15, 2024.
“The High Commission of the Republic of Ghana regrets to announce the unexpected passing of His Excellency Rashid Bawa, Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria. His Excellency passed away on the 14th of March 2024 in Abuja,” the release stated.
It said the funeral proceedings were promptly carried out, and his body was transported to Accra for burial in line with Islamic burial customs.
“In memory of His Excellency, Alhaji Rashid Bawa, a Book of Condolence will be available for signing at the Chancery in Abuja on the following dates and times:
- Wednesday, 20″ March, 2024 to Friday, 22h° March, 20224 from 11:00 act to 4:00 pm.
- Monday, 25th March 2024 to Wednesday, 27″ March, 2024 from 11:00am to 4:00 pm.”
The High Commission urged all sympathizers to “join us in paying respects and honouring the legacy of His Excellency.”
