Berekum Chelsea held Young Apostles to a 1-1 draw at the Wenchi Sports Complex on Sunday, a result that eased some of the mounting pressure on head coach Samuel Boadu.
Chelsea took the lead through an own goal midway in the game, but their advantage was short-lived as Huseine Issah equalised for Young Apostles to ensure a share of the spoils.
While the draw extends Chelsea’s winless run to four matches, it at least stops their sequence of defeats and gives Boadu a temporary reprieve after a difficult fortnight. His side showed better organisation and urgency compared to recent outings, but they were again undone by lapses in concentration at key moments.
For Young Apostles, the result maintains their unbeaten streak, now stretching to five matches, continuing their impressive start to life in the Premier League.
Next up, Young Apostles will travel to face Bibiani GoldStars, while Berekum Chelsea return home for a crucial encounter against Vision FC. For Boadu, the draw may have bought him some time, but victory in the next fixture remains essential.
