Nations FC captain Razak Simpson has underlined his side’s determination ahead of their visit to Medeama SC, insisting the team is focused solely on securing victory in Tarkwa on Sunday.
The Kumasi-based club have enjoyed a promising start to the campaign but have faltered in recent weeks, dropping five points from their last two fixtures, including a frustrating draw with Samartex.
Despite that dip, Simpson believes Nations have the mentality required to produce a big performance against the reigning champions.
“Of course, that's the mentality each and every time we play. It's a match to win. We know Medeama is a very tough team,” Simpson said.
“They will come with all they have and we are also going against them with all we have. So, at the end of the game, we will see.”
Medeama are also targeting a response after last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Karela United halted their strong start under Ibrahim Tanko.
They remain third on the table with six points, two ahead of Nations in fifth.
Defensive lapses on the road have been a worry for Nations, who have conceded in each of their last four away matches. That will need to be addressed if they are to return from Tarkwa with all three points.
