Nations FC skipper Razak Simpson has urged his teammates to be more ruthless in front of goal as they prepare for a tough Ghana Premier League encounter against Medeama SC on Sunday at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa.
Medeama, who suffered a 1-0 defeat to Karela United in Tamale last weekend, will be determined to bounce back and protect their unbeaten home record.
Nations FC are also chasing improvement, having dropped five points in their last two games, including a disappointing draw against Samartex.
Despite acknowledging the team’s solid overall display, Simpson insists results will only improve if chances are converted.
“We need to do better, we need to try harder because performance-wise it was okay, but we need to take our chances. We had a lot of chances, but we need to bury them,” he said.
The midfielder added: “This is what me, my colleagues and the coaches are preparing for throughout this week â to just bury our chances.”
Nations FC’s defensive record remains a concern, with the side conceding in each of their last four away games. Medeama currently sit third on six points, while Nations occupy fifth with four.
