Ghana international, Thomas Partey, has charged his Villarreal teammates to learn from their defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Spanish La Liga over the weekend.
The former Arsenal star was in action for the Yellow Submarines in the Round four fixture of the La Liga campaign played at the Wanda Metropolitano and rued his team’s missed chances after the game.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Partey admitted that the game against his former side was difficult and urged his Villarreal teammates to learn from the defeat.
"I think it was a difficult game for us, even though we created good chances to be able to be leading, but it is part of football.
“Sometimes you don't take your chances and you concede from a goal that you play back is an error that shouldn't happen but it is part of football. We have to learn from this and keep learning," Thomas Partey told Sporty TV.
Partey will be returning to London in midweek for the UEFA Champions League game against Tottenham Hotspur.
He is the player with the most appearances (44) in the competition in the current Villarreal squad.
