Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito says he will be elated to guide his side to win the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
The Ghanaian powerhouse will compete in this year's CAF interclub competition after winning the FA Cup, beating lower-tier side Golden Kick FC 2-1.
Kotoko will face Nigerian side Kwara United in the first leg of the preliminary round of games at the Accra Sports Stadium.
However, Zito, speaking ahead of the fixture, reiterated that, having won the Confederation Cup as a player, he will be excited to guide the Porcupine Warriors to clinch the ultimate.
"Going into Africa is not easy, so I am pleading with the fans to stay united and support the team," the veteran gaffer told Asempa FM.
"I played and won Africa, so I will be happy to win this tournament, but it must start with the fans coming together.
"The target is to get into the money zone, but we must first win the game against Kwara United," Zito added.
The two-legged tie is scheduled for September 21 and September 28.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will face Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club in the second round of the preliminary games should they secure win over Kwara United.
