Hon. Edem Agbana, the Member of Parliament for Ketu North and owner of Nukunu Sports Academy, has pledged to serve with utmost dedication after being appointed chairman of the Elite U19 Boys Championship by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The legislator succeeds Abdul Salam Yakubu in the role and will lead a five-member committee tasked with running the competition.
In a Facebook post, Agbana described the appointment as a “deep honour” and expressed appreciation to GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku and the Executive Council for their trust.
“To my family, friends, and all who have sent messages publicly and privately, I am truly grateful for the love and support.
“The U19 Championship is about the future of Ghana football . Let us all join hands to make it a big deal.
“As always, I will serve with utmost dedication and commit my all to the development of the game.”
Launched under the GFA’s “Power to the Youth” policy, the Elite U19 Boys Championship provides a bridge between grassroots football and the professional game.
It targets Second Division players born in 2007, creating scouting and development opportunities for future national team stars and elite clubs.
