Ghanaian midfielder Douglas Owusu opened his goal-scoring account in the Serbian Super Liga over the weekend, but his effort was not enough to secure a result as FK Radnik Surdulica fell 3-2 to Radnicki 1923 at the EFBET Stadion.
Radnik looked in full control during the first half, with Serbian youngster Vukasin Bogdanovic breaking the deadlock in the 26th minute.
Just seven minutes later, Owusu doubled the advantage with a composed finish, marking his maiden top-flight goal since joining Radnik from Ghana’s Asekem FC.
His strike capped off an impressive individual display and highlighted the progress he has made since stepping into the Super Liga this season.
However, the second half brought heartbreak for the home side.
Slovenian forward Ester Sokler reduced the deficit shortly after the restart, before Bojan Adzic struck again three minutes later to level the contest.
The visitors completed the comeback deep into stoppage time, with veteran defender Slobodan Simovic snatching the winning goal to silence the home crowd.
Despite the defeat, Owusu’s milestone goal represents a significant moment in his European journey.
The 19-year-old, who recently gained Serbian citizenship, has now featured in eight Super Liga matches, continuing to show his growth, creativity, and importance to Radnik’s midfield.
