Accra Hearts of Oak have completed the signing of 17-year-old defensive midfielder Kelvin Appiah on a three-year contract from lower-tier side Team Grace Sporting Club.
The deal was finalised on Thursday, just a day before the club’s FIFA-imposed transfer ban officially took effect.
Appiah, widely regarded as a special talent, has been tipped for a bright future thanks to his composure, ball-winning ability, and maturity beyond his years in the midfield role.
Having impressed in the just ended GHALCA top four tournament in Accra, the Phobians are poised to improve on their performance last season as the new Ghana Premier League approaches.
The teenager’s arrival is seen as a statement of intent from the Phobians, who are determined to strengthen their squad with young, promising talents while preparing for life under the transfer ban.
