The Member of Parliament (MP) for Dome-Kwabenya, Faustina Elikplim Akurugu, has extended condolences to the family of Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, following his passing. She visited the daughter, Sarah Adwoa Safo, who is the former MP for the Constituency and her family to commiserate with them.
Mrs. Akurugu signed the book of condolences, honouring Apostle Dr. Safo’s memory and standing in solidarity with the bereaved family.
The Safo family and the Kristo Asafo Church confirmed the death of Apostle Dr. Safo on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
In a message shared on her social media, Mrs. Akurugu expressed her deep sorrow, describing Apostle Dr. Safo as “a man of vision whose works, as a spiritual leader and innovator, have left an indelible mark on Ghana.”
She further noted that his commitment to uplifting the underprivileged and his relentless pursuit of local innovation “inspired confidence in what Ghanaians can achieve on their own.”
Apostle Dr. Safo, popularly called the “Star of Africa,” was revered for his leadership in championing the Kristo Asafo Mission and his groundbreaking contributions to engineering and manufacturing through the Kantanka Group of Companies.
His locally produced vehicles and machinery redefined what was possible for indigenous industry in the country.
Mrs. Akurugu said his passing was a national loss, adding, “Apostle Safo’s legacy will continue to live on in the lives he touched and, in the industries, he helped shape.”
Apostle Dr. Safo is remembered as a spiritual father, philanthropist, and a pioneer whose work will continue to inspire generations.
