AFRIWOCC 2025
Following the success of its maiden edition in 2023, AFRIWOCC has solidified its reputation
as Africa’s leading platform that champions the interests of women and children in climate
leadership, policy influence, and cross-sectoral collaboration within the climate space.
The 2023 conference gathered key stakeholders from across the continent and the global
community, culminating in the adoption of a six-point communique on climate change
mitigation and adaptation.
Despite contributing the least to global carbon emissions, Africa suffers the most from the
consequences of climate change through floods, droughts, food insecurity, and displacement.
For young Africans and women, these realities are not distant occurrences- they are lived
experiences.
AFRIWOCC 2025 therefore aims to build on this momentum to drive bold and inclusive
actions toward a climate-resilient Africa. This year’s event will highlight the unique role of
young people in rallying the continent, leading policy, and advancing bold, equitable,
sustainable and future-driven climate solutions.
Discussions will delve into several critical areas, including youth leadership for climate action, education and skill development, inclusive governance, entrepreneurship for economic empowerment, and the roles of technology, innovation, and agribusiness.
The impact and reach of the conference are amplified by a strategic coalition of partners, including United Nations Ghana, the Government of Ghana, German Cooperation, Ashesi University, the Kosmos Innovation Center, and the Clean Cooking Alliance.
