The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) is hosting the 7th African Petroleum Producers’ Organisation (APPO) National Oil Companies (NOCs) CEOs Meeting in Accra which began yesterday, Sunday, September 14 and continues today, Monday, September 15, 2025.
The two-day meeting brings together chief executives and senior leaders from 19 African oil-producing countries to discuss how they can work together better on regional partnerships, new technology, and making Africa’s oil industry more sustainable.
Kwame Ntow Amoah, who leads GNPC as Acting Chief Executive Officer, is chairing the meeting. As the current head of the APPO NOCs CEOs Forum, Mr Amoah is hosting this important gathering, which shows Ghana’s growing role in Africa’s energy sector and GNPC’s position as a key player in bringing African oil companies together. “This meeting shows Ghana’s important place in Africa’s oil industry and GNPC’s commitment to helping cooperation and innovation move forward for the continent’s shared benefit,” Mr Amoah said.
The meeting is happening alongside Africa Oil Week (AOW) 2025, which puts Ghana at the heart of Africa’s energy discussions.
Under Mr Amoah’s leadership, the summit is focused on creating real results on shared infrastructure, local content, innovation, and investment opportunities across APPO member countries. The goal is to strengthen cooperation between African energy companies and help the continent’s oil and gas sector grow together. The meeting highlights GNPC’s role not just as Ghana’s national oil company, but as a leader working to connect African oil producers and drive regional energy partnerships forward.
