Trouble for Democracy Hub as deceased protester's father sends lawyers after leaders

Fresh trouble has hit the camp of Democracy Hub as lawyers representing Frederick Asante Nyarko have formally requested the assistance of the Inspector-General of Police in identifying the leaders responsible for the protests that allegedly resulted in the death of his daughter on 21 September 2024.

In a letter addressed to Dr George Akuffo Dampare, the legal team underscored the urgent need to gather key information about the individuals who organised and led the demonstration, which unfolded on the principal streets of Accra. The Right to Information request is part of their broader efforts to seek possible legal redress for their client.

According to the correspondence, Nyarko’s daughter lost her life amid the chaotic events surrounding the protest. The legal team stressed that identifying those in charge is essential to pursuing justice for the family.
