The Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana National Gas Company Limited (GNGCL), W/R Will Get Fair Share Of Ghana Gas’ Social Investment Projects – CEO , has promised to make sure Western Region gets the lion’s share of social investment projects the Gas Company would roll out under her leadership.
Though she admitted that Ghana Gas is a national asset, the fact that it has been cited in the Western Region cannot be ruled out. To her therefore, it will be fair for the host region to benefit from social investment projects that will be rolled out.
Addressing members of the Western Regional House of Chiefs (WRHC) in Sekondi recently, the Acting CEO who was accompanied by her deputy, Dr. Robert Kofi Lartey, and other key management members also assured the chiefs that more people would be employed in the Western Region for the construction of Ghana Gas Plant 2 (GGP 2).
She would also make sure the relationship between management of the Gas Company and chiefs had been strengthened. She further promised to meet the chiefs every six months to discuss the development of the company.
Thanking the president for her appointment and massive support she had received from chiefs and people of the region, Mrs. Adjoba Blay believed she was given the position primarily because she was competent and secondly as an indigene of the region.
Omanhene of Lower Axim, Awulae Atibrukusu III advised the deputy CEO, Dr. Robert Kofi Lartey to support the CEO with good heart to succeed.
Earlier the president of the House, Nana Kobina Nketsiah V, had told the Ghana Gas CEO that the Western Region should have been the centre for oil and gas activities. However, the headquarters of most of the oil and gas companies are in Accra instead of the western region.
