Virgil van Dijk has issued a rallying cry to his Liverpool team-mates amid their recent struggles on the pitch.
The Reds suffered their latest setback on Sunday afternoon after losing the Carabao Cup final 2-1 to Newcastle, which came days after their shootout defeat by PSG.
Though the league title will, more than likely, be heading back to Merseyside at the end of the campaign, there are still some concerns among Liverpool supporters.
Now, despite his unresolved contract situation, Virgil van Dijk has come forward and urged his team-mates to ‘work our a**es off’ to stop the ‘world sinking’.
According to The Sun, he said: ‘We have to turn this around. If you lose twice in five days it feels like the world is sinking. Two weeks before, everything was sunshine and rainbows.
‘In the Champions League, we couldn’t get it done, we lost this final and we got knocked out of the FA Cup.
‘We have nine games to go and I don’t think there’s any motivation needed to try to get the job done. We have to work our a**es off’.
