Nations FC head coach Zdravko Logarušić says he is "not a magician" after his side's maiden CAF Confederation Cup campaign ended in the preliminary round.

The Ghanaian FA Cup holders were eliminated after a 1-1 home draw against Mali's FC Diarra at the Accra Sports Stadium, following a 1-0 defeat in the first leg in Bamako, as they exited 2-1 on aggregate.

Speaking after the match, the Croatian coach pointed to major squad changes and the absence of several new signings as key factors behind the disappointing result.

"I am not a magician, I am just a coach," Logarušić told reporters.

"A lot of players left the club and a lot of players came. Our five top signings could not play the game.

"Korsah had to play as a central defender, and we had other makeshift changes. We are a bit disorganised."

The draw brought an end to Nations FC's first appearance in continental football, with the Abrankese-based club unable to overturn their first-leg deficit.

The club will now shift its focus to domestic football after being relegated from the Ghana Premier League at the end of the 2025-26 season.

Logarušić's side will compete in the Division One League during the 2026-27 campaign as they attempt to secure an immediate return to Ghana's top flight.
