Ghanaian international, Ibrahim Sadiq produced an impressive performance on Wednesday, helping AZ Alkmaar to secure a 3-1 away victory over PEC Zwolle in the Dutch Cup round 2 fixture.
The 25-year-old played a pivotal role, as AZ Alkmaar triumphed over their opponent to secure qualification to the next round of the Cup competition.
PEC Zwolle opened the scoring before the half hour mark through Netherlands international Koen Kostons. But the visitors staged a strong comeback in the second half, overturning the scoreline to book a place in the next round of the competition.
Netherlands international Sven Mijnans scored to level the score for the visitors in the 53rd-minute mark before firing home his second goal of the match in the 83rd-minute, doubling the advantage for AZ Alkmaar.
However, the Ghanaian international cemented victory for the side with a stupendous strike in stoppage time.
Sadiq, who joined AZ Alkmaar in summer 2023, has made 18 appearances across competitions for the club, scoring six goals across the period.
