Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani believes set-piece efficiency will be crucial to the club’s momentum after Saturday’s narrow victory over Vision FC.
The Phobians edged the encounter 1â0 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, with Mawuli Wayo rising to head home the decisive goal in the 41st minute. The win ended their brief stumble in the Ghana Premier League and restored confidence in the squad.
Reflecting on the performance, Dramani expressed satisfaction with how a rehearsed routine delivered the breakthrough.
He noted that set pieces have become “fundamental in the modern game,” especially in tight contests where clear chances are scarce.
“Our trump card is also working on the set pieces because the set pieces game has become very fundamental in the modern trends, and so when the game becomes so tight, you can rely on set pieces to open up," the former Black Stars assistant coach said.
“I think that we should have scored even more than two from our set-piece play,” Didi Dramani added.
The victory lifts Hearts of Oak to fourth place on the table with 21 points. They now turn their attention to their next assignment â a Matchday 13 trip to the Aliu Mahama Stadium, where they will face Karela United.
