Hearts of Oak coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani believes his side remain genuine contenders for the Ghana Premier League title despite their inconsistent start to the campaign.
The Phobians dropped to sixth place after Sunday’s goalless draw away to Young Apostles, a result that marked their sixth stalemate in eleven matches and again raised concerns about their cutting edge in front of goal.
Dramani, however, insists the season is far from lost.
“It is still possible to win the league because we have more than thirty matches to play. We only need to convert these draws into wins. If you want to win the league, you must win games,” he said.
Reflecting on the draw in Wenchi, where Hearts failed to score for the sixth time this season, the coach noted that their opponents showed strong commitment.
“We expected this kind of game. They were motivated because they were facing Hearts of Oak. It was a match with limited chances and plenty of transitions,” he explained.
Hearts have recorded only one victory in November, a 2-1 win over Basake Holy Stars. Their next assignments against Vision FC, Karela United and Nations FC will test their bid to climb back into the title race.
