
A 27-year-old commercial motor rider, (Okada rider) has been granted a GH¢50,000.00 bail with two sureties by the Amasaman Circuit Court for allegedly threatening to kill a police officer.
The court, presided over by Mrs Akosua Anokyewaa Adjepong, a relieving judge, ordered that Alex Yeboah’s sureties should be employed, justified and live within the jurisdiction of the court.
Police investigators should inspect whether the sureties and Yeboah, the accused person, had fixed places of abode, it said.
The court asked Yeboah to report to the police investigator every Friday between 0900 and 1700 hours.
Prosecution was asked to file its disclosures and serve the accused person.
The court ordered the accused person to return to the court on December 12, 2025.
Police Chief Inspector Salifu Nashiru, giving the facts, said Mr Mawuli Akaba, the complainant, was a policeman at the National Police Headquarters.
He said on October 14, both the complainant and the accused visited their friend at Sapeiman who had returned from abroad where two ladies also came around uninvited.
An argument ensued between the complainant and accused over the ladies, resulting in Yeboah threatening to stab and kill the complainant.
A formal complaint was lodged with the Amasaman Police, leading to the arrest of Yeboah.
