The Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Hon. Eric Edem Agbana, has extended his goodwill message to participating clubs ahead of the kickoff of the 2025/26 Division Two League season in the Volta Region.
Hon. Agbana, who also serves as President of Nukunu Sports Academy and Chairman of the MTN Elite U-19 Championship, highlighted the importance of the Division Two League in shaping Ghana’s football future, both on and off the pitch.
“The 2025/2026 Division Two League season is here, and it offers another opportunity to showcase the strength, discipline, and ambition of our local football ecosystem,” he said. “This is where raw talent is shaped, community pride is built, and future stars emerge.”
The MP issued a special message of encouragement to teams from his constituency, urging them to compete with passion and integrity.
“I extend my best wishes to all clubs competing, especially Nukunu Sports Academy and Sesi-Edem Academy, both domiciled in Ketu North,” he stated. “Compete with heart, stay focused and carry the flag of the constituency with honour.”
Hon. Agbana also emphasised the importance of fair officiating and professionalism, calling on match officials and stakeholders to play their roles effectively.
“I urge match officials to uphold the highest standards of fairness and professionalism. Good officiating is non-negotiable if we want a credible league,” he stressed. “I also implore all stakeholders including security personnel to execute their duties responsibly, ensuring a safe, transparent, and well-managed competition.”
In closing, he called for unity, discipline, and respect across the season.
“To every club across the region, maintain discipline, respect the game, and give the fans a league they can be proud of. Let football unite our communities, not divide us. Wishing all teams a successful and competitive season.”
The 2025/26 Volta Division Two League is scheduled to begin this weekend, with clubs across the region poised to stake their claim in one of Ghana’s most important development leagues.
