Sports Minister Kofi Adams has revealed plans to meet with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to discuss the financial framework for the upcoming World Cup.
He made it clear that such financial decisions cannot be taken alone but require collaboration and fairness.
"Just last week cabinet accepted putting some committees in place so we will sit with the FA and have a conversation on what we will be taking to this World Cup whether there will be appearance fee and if there will how much is it. Who are those entitled to get the appearance fee and who are not entitled to get it because the arrangement we already have for them because some of them if you look at their contract we have some special arrangements for them already. So that will all form part of the conversation we will have," he told Peace FM as monitored by Ghanasoccernet.com
"Me as a minister, I will not sit here and say we are doing it like this or that. I want us to have a conversation devoid of my personal biases. We will look at the industry we will look at the best practices what is going on at where we are aiming to get to and how can we do it should it be the case everytime we are going to the World Cup the little money we will get all goes into the management to the mundial then come home emptyhanded,"
Ghana is gearing up for two international friendlies against Japan and South Korea as part of preparations for the global showpiece.
