Derrick Kohn has finally been cleared to represent Ghana after completing his nationality switch and is set to make his Black Stars debut this month.
German Bundesliga side Union Berlin confirmed that their left-back has received an international call-up for Ghana’s upcoming friendlies against Japan and South Korea during the November international window.
Kohn, who was previously invited by coach Otto Addo, missed earlier opportunities to feature for Ghana as his nationality switch process had not been finalised. With all paperwork now complete, the 25-year-old is expected to join the team as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Although the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is yet to release the official squad list, several clubs, including Union Berlin, have confirmed their players’ invitations through internal communication.
Ghana will face Japan on Friday, November 14, in the Kirin Challenge Cup before taking on South Korea four days later. The two matches form part of the Black Stars’ efforts to strengthen their squad ahead of next year’s competitive fixtures.
