Hearts of Oak marked their 114th anniversary on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, celebrating more than a century of history, triumphs, and transformation.
In a statement issued by club management, Hearts of Oak reflected on their journey since 1911, describing the occasion as “a milestone that reflects both our rich history and enduring devotion.” The club highlighted its evolution from humble beginnings in Accra to becoming “a national treasure and an internationally recognised institution.”
The message recalled key moments in Hearts’ illustrious past, from their CAF Champions League and Super Cup successes in early 2000 to years of dominance in the Ghana Premier League, all embodied in their famous creed: “Never Say Die until the bones are rotten.”
The club extended appreciation to its supporters, describing them as “the lifeblood of this club” whose passion and chants have earned Hearts of Oak the nickname “The Continental Club Masters.”
Hearts also called for unity and professionalism among stakeholders, noting that the club’s future “depends on collaboration and shared purpose.”
Management further expressed gratitude to Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV and the leadership team for their “transformative vision” that has reignited the club’s ambition through projects such as the Pobiman Training Complex, improved facilities, and enhanced player welfare.
“As we celebrate this anniversary, let us honor the memories of the past and embrace the hope of the future,” the statement concluded. “Hearts of Oak is not merely a club; it is an institution, a symbol of resilience, and a beacon of Ghanaian pride.”
