Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has noted that his team’s immediate focus is on their next Ghana Premier League match against Karela United, although the first Super Clash of the league campaign is fast-approaching.
According to him, his team will only turn attention to the showdown with rivals Hearts of Oak after overcoming Karela United.
“My first option is the league match we are going to play on Sunday, before thinking about the other game against Hearts of Oak, which is one of the biggest in the country. Because Hearts and Kotoko's match is a different issue altogether. But let’s face the Karela United game first. We are ready for that match,” Karim Zito told AKSC Media.
The Week 8 fixture between Asante Kotoko and Karela United is scheduled to be played on Sunday, November 2, at Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Subsequently, the Porcupine Warriors will make the trip to the capital to take on their bitterest rivals, Hearts of Oak, at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 9.
A win in the next two matches would improve Kotoko's Ghana Premier League aspirations in the ongoing season.
