The Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA) held its Ordinary Session of Congress at the Ho Municipal Assembly Hall on Friday.
This marks the official launch of the 2025/26 football season, with over 90 congressmen attending the event, which brought together key stakeholders from across the region.
In his address, VRFA Chairman Daniel Agbogah congratulated the Black Stars on qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing the achievement as an inspiration for the region’s football community.
He also educated members on recent amendments to the GFA Statutes, noting that written proposals now replace deliberations during Congress.
Mr Agbogah announced that the new Division Two League season will begin on the weekend of November 14, 2025, with CMS training for club administrators scheduled for November 2â4. For the first time, the league winner will receive prize money to motivate clubs.
He also disclosed plans to collaborate with the Ghana Education Service to introduce new school-level competitions and praised clubs for improving their digital presence.
Representing the GFA President, Executive Council Member Gideon Fosu commended the VRFA’s progress and urged continued support for football development in the region.
