
Wydad Casablanca have arrived in Ghana ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup clash against Asante Kotoko this weekend.
The players and technical team of the Moroccan giants landed at the Kotoko International Airport early Thursday morning to continue preparation for the much-anticipated clash.
In a high-stake clash on Sunday, the Porcupine Warriors will play host to Wydad Casablanca at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg of the second preliminary round.
As mandated by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the Moroccan football heavyweights are expected to train at the match venue on Saturday before the crucial clash on Sunday afternoon.
Asante Kotoko triumphed over Nigerian side Kwara United in the first preliminary round, setting up a mammoth tie against Wydad Casablanca. It promises to be a tough encounter for the Porcupine Warriors, who are yet to lose a game since the commencement of the 2025/26 football campaign.
The Ghanaian giants’ quest of hosting the Moroccan outfit at the Baba Yara Stadium was turned down by the continental football governing body, forcing them to switch to the Accra Sports Stadium.
The two-time CAF Champions League holders will be hoping to grind results in the first leg tie in Ghana to better their chances of securing qualification to the group stage of the Confederation Cup this season.
