Asante Kotoko’s Communications Officer, Sarfo Duku, believes the club has proven itself against North African opponents and will not be intimidated when they face Wydad Athletic Club.
“If you are playing a competition and you meet a North African country like WAC it is sometimes difficult we all know how they play and their level in football. What God has given to us Ghanaians is that when it comes to talents we also have them," he told Peace FM as monitored by Ghanasoccernet.com
"So I think when it comes to Kotoko and north African sides we haven't disgraced ourselves like when we hear their name then we panic they also panic when they hear Kotoko's name.
"On Sunday it will not be easy but i know that the preparation by the team and also the players performance is now on very high we cant fail Ghanaians,"
Kotoko will face Wydad on Sunday, October 19, at the Accra Sports Stadium after CAF declined to approve the Baba Yara Stadium. Tickets are selling at GHS 50 for the Popular Stand and Centre Line, and GHS 200 for the VIP section.
The Porcupine Warriors, unbeaten this season, reached this stage after a 5-3 aggregate win over Nigeria’s Kwara United. However, Wydad’s experience at the FIFA Club World Cup promises a tough encounter.
