Hearts of Oak’s start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season has been marked by defensive organisation but a troubling lack of goals. The Phobians have scored only twice in their opening five matches - both goals coming against relegation-threatened Dreams FC and Eleven Wonders.
Their recent results reflect a side still struggling to find fluency in attack: a goalless draw with Heart of Lions on October 13, another 0-0 against Bechem United on October 3, and a similar scoreline at home to Hohoe United on September 12. In between, they managed narrow 1-0 victories over Dreams FC and Eleven Wonders - results that have kept them unbeaten but exposed their attacking limitations.
Head coach Didi Dramani admits the lack of goals is a concern, but insists the team is building a clear tactical identity.
"We always try as much as possible to control our opponent and the game, especially when we’re without the ball," he said. "It’s definitely a problem not getting the goals, but it’s good that we have our identity now and we’re still working towards that."

Hearts’ defensive discipline has been commendable, but with just two goals in five games, supporters are growing uneasy. The club’s last league title came in 2021, and while Dramani’s appointment raised optimism before the season, doubts are beginning to emerge as the team continues to struggle in front of goal.
