Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has stressed that they will not be carried away ahead of their final game against Comoros.
Ghana will host Comoros in the final Group I game on Sunday, October 12, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The four-time African champions have taken a giant step in their chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup following a covincing 5-0 win over Central African Republic on Wednesday in the Matchday 9 games at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknès in Morocco.
Goals from Mohammed Salisu, Thomas Partey, Alexander Djiku, Jordan Ayew, and Kamaldeen Sulemana sealed the win for the Black Stars.
Ahead of the final game, Ayew says the team’s mindset remains unchanged.
“Nothing changes for us. It’s still an important game, there’s something at stake, and that’s to win and finish the job,” Ayew told 3Sports.
“We don’t want to get carried away because we know there’s one more game. We want to finish hard, finish strong, and make sure we enjoy ourselves on the pitch while making the fans proud. I hope they come to celebrate with us.”
Kick off for the game is scheduled at 19:00 GMT.
