Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, says he expects nothing short of a commanding performance from the Black Stars when they face the Central African Republic in their penultimate 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Ghana will take on the Central African Republic on Wednesday, October 8, at the Stade d'Honneur in Morocco, in a crucial Matchday 9 encounter that could determine their qualification fate, with kick-off scheduled at 16:00 GMT.
In an interview with Channel One TV, Minister Adams voiced his firm belief that the team must deliver a convincing result to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
“I expect the Black Stars to do nothing but win and win convincingly because we need that win to safeguard our presenceâ¦for the World Cup, so they must win nothing less than a win. That’s what we expect.”
The Black Stars will wrap up their qualifying campaign on Sunday, October 12, when they host Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium. That fixture will kick off at 19:00 GMT.
Ghana, four-time champions of Africa, are seeking a fifth appearance at the global showpiece, having previously featured in the 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022 editions in Germany, South Africa, Brazil, and Qatar, respectively.
