Nations FC captain Razak Simpson has expressed satisfaction with his team’s overall display despite recent setbacks, as they prepare to face Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa.
Medeama will be eager to recover from their 1-0 defeat to Karela United last weekend, which halted their winning run after back-to-back victories.
Nations FC are also chasing redemption, having dropped five points in their last two outings, including a frustrating draw against Samartex.
Simpson, however, believes the team is moving in the right direction and insists their performances have been encouraging even if the results have not matched.
“We need to do better, we need to try harder because performance-wise it was okay, but we need to take our chances. We had a lot of chances, but we need to bury them,” he said.
He added: “This is what me, my colleagues and the coaches are preparing for throughout this week â to just bury our chances.”
With Nations conceding in each of their last four away matches, tightening up defensively will also be key. Medeama sit 3rd with six points, while Nations occupy 5th with four points.
