The head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito, has heaped praise on Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford, describing him as one of the best in the country.
The two managers will be on the opposite dugout this weekend when the Porcupine Warriors host the boys from Kpando for their Week 4 clash in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
Speaking in his pre-match interview, Karim Zito said his team is preparing for a tough contest and is confident of a victory at the end of the 90 minutes.
“Bashir Hayford is one of the best coaches we have in the country, so definitely the mantle will be with the players we are going to play. How they will go according to the instructions given to them?
“We are going to play. He is at the bench and I’m the bench. I have talked to my boys to forget about Africa for now and focus on this game. On the table every home match should be a win. This is the mentality we are going to meet them with,” Zito told AKSC Media.
The highly anticipated clash between Asante Kotoko and Heart of Lions will be played on Sunday, October 5, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The showdown will kick off at 3 pm.
