German-Ghanaian striker Ragnar Ache is set to feature once again in FC Koln’s starting lineup when they travel to face TSG Hoffenheim on Friday evening.
The 27-year-old striker earned praise after his solid showing in his starting debut against VfB Stuttgart, and his coach Lukas Kwasniok has confirmed that Ache has trained fully this week and is ready for action.
While Ache is fit enough to start, the club is not rushing his progress after earlier setbacks this season. Kwasniok noted the importance of pacing his return, stating: "It makes a difference whether you bring him in for 30 minutes, whether he plays for 60 minutes or one day even for 90. We simply have to handle the issue very sensitively because of what happened in the past."
Ache’s knee problems earlier in the campaign forced a cautious approach, and the medical staff remain focused on avoiding further complications.
"I simply don't want to risk him tearing a muscle fiber in the 84th minute because he hasn't played the full 90 minutes in a long time." Kwasniok added.
