FC Samartex 1996 have confirmed the appointment of former Black Stars and Asante Kotoko forward Eric Bekoe to their technical setup, marking a significant step in the club’s long-term development plans.
Bekoe, who carved his name into Ghanaian football history with his goal-scoring exploits, will serve in a dual role: Head of the Samartex Youth Team and Strikers Coach for the senior men’s side.
His appointment is expected to inject experience, technical expertise, and a winning mentality into both the club’s developmental structures and their Ghana Premier League campaign.
The former Kotoko star, fondly remembered for finishing as the Ghana Premier League’s top scorer in the 2007/08 season, also enjoyed spells abroad with Petrojet in Egypt and Berekum Chelsea in the Ghanaian topflight.
Bekoe represented the Black Stars during his peak years and is widely regarded as one of the most clinical strikers of his generation.
Samartex believe his knowledge of the game, coupled with his proven ability to mentor young talent, will prove invaluable as they look to cement their place among Ghana’s elite clubs while building a strong production line of future stars.
Bekoe’s arrival underlines Samartex’s ambition to balance immediate success with long-term sustainability.
