Ghana international Joseph Paintsil was the hero for LA Galaxy on Saturday night, netting a sensational hat-trick to power LA Galaxy to a 4-1 victory against Sporting Kansas City in the American Major League Soccer (MLS).
The highly-rated winger started the Week 32 contest for his team at Dignity Health Sports Park, exciting the supporters with his dazzling performance and ensuring his team bagged all three points.
On the matchday, Paintsil gave the Sporting Kansas City defense no space to breathe, scoring after just four minutes into the first half to give his team an early lead.
Later in the 24th minute, the attacker got his second of the day, completing a very good attacking play by his team.
Although Dejan Joveljic will equalise just three minutes later to halve the deficit for Sporting Kansas City, Joseph Paintsil was not done.
The Black Stars forward found the back of the net for the third time in the 43rd minute, completing a fantastic first-half hat-trick to keep his team in a comfortable lead at the break.
Diego Fagundez scored LA Galaxy’s fourth goal in the 60th minute, with Paintsil involved in the build-up.
After his hat-trick against Sporting KC, Joseph Paintsil has become the third player in Los Angeles Galaxy history to produce a first-half hat-trick, joining Robbie Keane (May 26, 2013) and Alejandro Moreno (May 19, 2004).
