Ghana Football Association Communication Director Henry Asante Twum has confirmed that the Black Stars will face the Central African Republic in Morocco as part of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Henry Asante Twum explained that some countries have been playing their home matches at neutral grounds due to stadium issues. Ghana’s upcoming opponents, Central African Republic, fall into this category.
"Yes it is true there are some countries in the qualifiers we are playing I think about nine countries their home games are played at a neutral venue. Central African Republic is one, Chad in our group there were part but luckily, they have completed their stadium so they have gone back. And again Madagascar is still part their venue in Antananarivo," he told Peace FM as monitored by Ghanasoccernet.com
"So yes next month we will be completing the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Africa the two matches to complete for match day nine and ten by the grace of God we have all name where they will play their home matches. If you are playing your home matches for match day nine you should know by now if it was accepted you will know if it was rejected you will know if it wants accepted and you are given a place that is where you will play.
"Central African Republic because they don't have a home venue their home match against Ghana will go and play it in Morocco that is 8th October. And then four days after we will meet Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium 12th October so those are the dates for final matches,"
The Black Stars top Group I with 19 points after eight games. They will face Central African Republic on October 8 in Morocco before hosting Comoros in Accra on October 12.
