Medeama SC will be aiming to become the first club this season to secure back-to-back wins in the Ghana Premier League when they host Vision FC on Friday evening at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa.
The Yellow and Mauves began their campaign with a 2-0 victory over league Young Apostles last weekend in Dormaa. Despite the result, head coach Ibrahim Tanko admitted the performance left room for improvement.
"The most important thing was the three points and a clean sheet. The performance wasn’t so good, especially in the first half, but the team stuck together, fought hard, and got the goals. That’s a positive sign," he said to the club's Medi TV.
Tanko has called on supporters to turn up in their numbers, assuring them of another strong display. He also confirmed there are no injury concerns in camp.
Vision FC, meanwhile, opened their season with a 0-0 draw against Samartex and will be determined to cause an upset in Tarkwa. Their record against Medeama suggests a competitive fixture, with the two sides evenly matched in recent encounters. They have met twice in the league, each side claiming one victory. Medeama won their most recent meeting 3-1 in May, with the two clubs sharing nine goals across those clashes.
Overall, Medeama have recorded 10 wins and 10 defeats in their last 20 competitive games, while Vision have picked up seven wins, seven draws, and six losses in the same period. With both sides eager to build momentum, Friday’s contest promises to be closely fought.
