Ragnar Ache’s patience and persistence are shaping his time at FC Koln.
The German-Ghanaian striker has not yet made his first start for the club, but his presence from the bench has already made an impression. At 27, Ache knows his chance will come, and for now, he is focused on contributing whenever he steps onto the pitch.
Coach Lukas Kwasniok values the forward’s unique approach in the air.
"The amazing thing about him is that he doesn't head the ball blindly. He hops, stands, looks around, and then can lay off. I've rarely seen that in that form," the coach explained.
Ache has mostly been used late in games, where his energy and sharpness give Koln a boost. His growing fitness is also winning praise. "His running stats are improving, his physical condition is becoming more and more stable because he works every day â and with a smile on his face," Kwasniok added.
Ache dreams of becoming a permanent Bundesliga starter. His coach believes he is moving in the right direction, though the timing remains open.
