The Ghana Football Association (GFA), in collaboration with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), will organise a four-day safety and security training workshop for Premier League clubs and other key stakeholders from 16 to 19 September 2025 in Accra.
The programme, which forms part of CAF’s Safe Stadium initiative, will equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to ensure the highest standards of safety before, during, and after football matches.
Attendees will include Safety and Security Officers from all 18 Ghana Premier League clubs, members of the GFA Security Committee, and 16 Regional Sports Police Officers. The training will cover a wide range of topics, including CAF’s Safety and Security Regulations, accreditation and access control, and crowd management.
The sessions will be led by Xololi Nokithula Vilakati from Eswatini and Sylvanus Obi from Nigeria, with CAF Safety and Security Division Head Dr. Christian Emeruwa also in attendance.
The opening ceremony will be presided over by CAF 2nd Vice President and GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, alongside GFA Executive Council and Safety and Security Committee members.
The workshop, scheduled daily from 8 am to 5 pm at the GFA Conference Room, underscores CAF’s commitment to creating safe and secure football environments amid growing interest in the sport across the continent.
