Spanish Segunda Division newcomers AD Ceuta FC have announced the signing of Ghanaian striker Samuel Obeng Gyabaa on transfer deadline day.
The 27-year-old forward arrives as a free agent after leaving Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club, where he featured last season and even competed in the prestigious FIFA Club World Cup.
Despite a brief and challenging spell in North Africa, Obeng remains highly regarded for his work rate and professionalism.
Born in Ghana on May 15, 1997, but raised in Spain, Obeng is described as a physically strong attacker with excellent aerial ability and relentless determination.
He is known for his competitive aggression, ability to win duels, and presence in the box - qualities Ceuta believe will give them an attacking edge as they compete in their maiden season in the Spanish second tier.
Obeng boasts vast professional experience, having played for Spanish clubs such as Girona, Real Oviedo, SD Huesca, Calahorra, and Granollers before moving abroad.
His return to Spain with Ceuta marks a new chapter in his career as he looks to rediscover the form that made him a key figure for Ghana’s U23 team at the 2019 CAF U23 Cup of Nations.
The Andalusian side expressed confidence that their new signing will quickly become a fan favourite, with the club optimistic that the “Caballa” supporters will celebrate many goals from the Ghanaian striker.
