Go Mahiam midfielder Enoch Morrison beleives the club will be elevated with the appointment of Ghanaian coach Charles Akonnor.
The Kenyan giants announced the appointment of Akonnor, with Bismark Kobby Mensah serving as the assistant coach, with Ben Owu as the goalkeepers' trainer.
Speaking in an interview, Morrison revealed that the news of Akonnor’s appointment, along with a fully Ghanaian technical team, was communicated to the players just a day prior.
“The team informed us about the appointment yesterday. It’s not only CK but the assistant and the goalkeeper’s trainer are all Ghanaians, which makes me very happy,” the former Asante Kotoko midfielder told Ghanasportspage.
“I’m 100 per cent sure that CK will lead us to success. Some players asked me about how CK is, and I told them he is very strict. He is someone I believe can manage egos, and I believe he will do well,” he added.
Morrison also noted that he previously felt isolated as the only Ghanaian at the club, and the arrival of a Ghanaian technical bench would ease communication and boost morale.
“I’m excited because I was the only Ghanaian, and it was difficult to blend in.”
