Koforidua Semper Fi and Okwawu United played out a 1-1 draw in a keenly contested Eastern regional derby at the Koforidua Sports Stadium on Sunday in the Access Bank Division One League Zone III.
Okwawu United took an early lead through Ayikwei in the 15th minute and held on to their advantage until halftime.
Semper Fi came out stronger in the second half, dominating possession and pressing for an equaliser.
Their persistence paid off when Abdulai Salifu was brought down inside the box after a brilliant dribble. Ebenezer Kobia stepped up and converted the penalty beautifully to restore parity.
Semper Fi continued to push for a winner but couldnt find the breakthrough. Despite the draw, they remain unbeaten in the second round of the season.
