Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak have congratulated captain Benjamin Asare after earning his first ever call up to the Black Stars for the 2026 World Cup qualifying games against Chad and Madagascar.Asare earned a place in Otto Addos 23-man squad released on Friday morning due to his outstanding performance in the Ghana Premier League this season.The 32-year-old has been pivotal for the Ghanaian giants, who currently sit third in the Ghana Premier League campaign. He has made 18 appearances in the Ghanaian top-flight, conceding just seven goals and keeping an impressive twelve clean sheet.Asare has been decisive for Hearts of Oak, making several crucial saves to salvage the club from defeats. His impressive performance caught the attention of the Black Stars technical team, necessitating for his inclusion for the two upcoming matches.The former Great Olympics shot stopper will compete for a starting role with already established Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Joseph Wollacott. He joins Nations FC defender Razak Simpson, and Medeamas Kamaradini Mamudu as the only local players to have made the cut for the upcoming qualifying gamesFrom hard work to history!
