
Former Ghana international Matthew Amoah has questioned the logic behind Antoine Semenyo moving to Tottenham Hotspur, insisting that such a transfer would not benefit the player.
The Bournemouth forward has been linked with a potential switch to North London, with reports suggesting Spurs are preparing a 40 million (33.5 million) bid for his services.
Semenyo, 25, has been in fine form this season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.
His performances have attracted interest from several top clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Napoli.
However, Amoah believes Tottenham is not the right destination for Semenyo at this stage of his career.
With all due respect to Tottenham, if this is the only offer that comes to Semenyo this summer, then he should stay at Bournemouth, Amoah told Africa Foot.Bournemouth are currently a better team on the pitch than Tottenham and seem more stable with a very good coach in Andoni Iraola. So, joining a club that is far behind would be a demotion that makes no footballing sense.Semenyo is expected to be called up for Ghana's 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar later this month.
